Welcome to THE BEGINNING BIRD WATCHER — a support site for the Birds of Vermont Museum’s Beginning Bird Watchers. It offers sample blogs and journals for you to imitate along with other suggestions to help you learn about birds.
If you’d like to view a sample blog created by a Museum volunteer as a role model, click on A Beginner’s Blog. To see an annotated list of other sample blogs, click on Others’ Blogs. If you want to start a blog of your own, click on Your Blog.
If you’d rather keep a handwritten field notebook or journal, design your own or use the one the Museum has available in its gift shop. All we’ll want to see is a copy of your journal entries. Your journal will be your own permanent record of the birds you’ve seen. See Your Notes/Journal for suggestions.
If you’d like to see some sample journals, click on Others’ Journals.
Because we want to keep you interested and motivated, the Birds of Vermont Museum will be offering walks and workshops along the way. Check the Birds of Vermont Museum Web Site for scheduled events.
